Commonwealth incorporates quality engineering and modern production techniques to produce custom bicycle frames and parts. The identity evolved from the company’s engineering background. The brand elements stem from the graphic qualities found in mechanical drawings and in the Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing handbooks. The blog was created to give an insiders view of all the art events and performances on campus. The blog design had to uphold the Wellesley brand but still have an edgy, contemporary feel. As the content of the page changes frequently, so do the header images which highlight a variety of artists. I purposefully avoided literal sexual imagery as this would defeat the purpose, however, I still wanted the poster to have a shocking impact. To accomplish this I simplified the shape of a woman’s genitals using only paper.
